Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) is Joining In on the Black Friday Fun

Black Friday is nearly here, and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) isn’t about to let the retail giants of the world have all of the fun. The tech giant has unveiled its plans for the busty holiday shopping season.

The Verge has the details.

Microsoft is dropping its Xbox One X console to $399 for Black Friday, but the company is also discounting 500 Xbox games during the holiday period. Starting today, Xbox Live Gold members will be able to access the discounts early, including an additional 10 percent to bring it up to 75 percent off titles.

There are 500 games discounted in total, including 154 Xbox 360 titles and add-ons. Most of the Xbox 360 games are backward compatible, and some are even enhanced for the latest Xbox One X hardware. While Call of Duty Black Ops 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2 only just launched, Microsoft is offering deals on both. Call of Duty is 20 percent off for Xbox Live Gold members, and Red Dead Redemption 2 gets a 10 percent discount. The ultimate edition of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey also has a 35 percent discount.

The tech giant shared its offering in a blog post, noting that the deals will be available from November 19 through November 30.

Microsoft Corporation shares fell $0.47 (-0.45%) in premarket trading Thursday. Year-to-date, MSFT has gained 24.34%, versus a 2.13% rise in the benchmark S&P 500 index during the same period.
