New Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) Xbox Subscription Offering Could Be Nearing

Reports are swirling that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is about to shake up the gaming subscription market. A new offering from the tech giant could put all the pieces that gamers need together for one monthly price.

Business Insider shares the scuttlebutt on Microsoft’s plans.

Microsoft is reportedly planning to roll an Xbox console, Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass into one all-inclusive subscription service called “Xbox All Access.”

The new service was teased by The Verge journalist Tom Warren in early August.

“Imagine if Microsoft offered the Xbox One X + Xbox Live Gold + Xbox Game Pass for a monthly subscription over 24 months…,” Warren wrote. The subscription is codenamed “Project Largo,” and it would include all of the items that Warren mentioned.

Subscribers would have a choice of an Xbox One S for roughly $22 a month, or an Xbox One X for about $35 per month. Once the subscription expires, the user would own the console outright.

Microsoft Corporation shares rose $0.59 (+0.54%) in premarket trading Monday. Year-to-date, MSFT has gained 29.19%, versus a 9.10% rise in the benchmark S&P 500 index during the same period.

MSFT currently has a StockNews.com POWR Rating of A (Strong Buy), and is ranked #1 of 68 stocks in the Software – Application category.
